Wireless Stopped working after running fine for a month

Hi there I hope someone can help with my problem my wired internet works fine but my wifi card wont turn on for some reason any help please

wifi card/chipset maybe?
make and model of your system?
Any recent changes you have made? (ie any updates, ppa's added, etc)

Hp Dv6000 I was using the b43 broadcom wireless driver. I was trying to get usb to work in virtual box and was reading where i needed to add something to fstab.After that i was left with a txt based login and even after removing that entry still same problem ended up with a x server crash.I had to recreate a new xorg file got back to the desktop but now when i go into the additional drivers that one is gone and I only have broadcom STA and this one will not even install without error.

Not sure what the problem was but I reinstalled all the main system files but running the installer and just formatting before the install and everything is back to normal
