    start nm-applet automatically

    Hi! I need some help on this problem:i've removed my knetworkmanager(can't make a pppoe connection) and installed network-manager-gnome.Now the problem is that nm-applet doesn't start automatically , only if i start it.
    I searched over net but couldn't find a solution!

    If someone have an idea about how could this be resolved than please..please give a hand of help
    Thank you!

    1. Open ~/.kde/share/config/networkmanagementrc and add the following into [General] section:

    Code:
    Autostart=false
    2. Open /etc/xdg/autostart/nm-applet.desktop and add KDE in OnlyShowIn item:

    Code:
    OnlyShowIn=GNOME;XFCE;KDE
    3. Reboot

      Already done it but with no success.
      Now i have one question:i'm not kind of a guru in configuration but why autostart is false shouldn't be true?
      Again i'm just a novice when come to conf!

        Re: start nm-applet automatically

        I was thinking Autostart=false should be Autostart=true, but perhaps I'm missing something?

        Another option you might try is adding a sym-link to nm-applet.desktop in ~.kde/Autostart/
