Just installed GMABooster and cranked up the Intel 945 video in this netbook from its power-saving netbook default of 166MHz to 400MHZ, which is the default for the chipset. They underclock them in netbooks for power savings but this netbook stays plugged in most of the time.
After testing I just call the script from /etc/rc.local - resuming from suspend will reset things to default, though. I created a launcher for it in case I ever do have to run it manually but it appears to have made a pretty fair difference in flash video performance.
Standard disclaimer here - you overclock stuff at your own risk. I'm fairly certain this tweak will have an adverse effect on battery life but my netbook's already got a 500gb 7200 rpm hard drive and a six-cell battery. After 2.5 hours on the performance power profile battery is at 71% so this ain't too bad a tweak.
GMABooster is donationware - if you like it you might toss a couple bucks at the author.
