Monitor troubles

My vga Gateway EV910 monitor wants to go into sleep mode after one min. I have the power management stuff in settings off so it should not do this. Is there some other section where its contorted that I don't no about?

Would like to no also is there proprietary drivers for the intel i3 530 and the gateway monitor?

kubuntu 10.10 kde 4.6b2
Intel i3 530 using on-board graphics
Ga-H55M-S2H with F7 bios. 4gb ram

I think I am having the same problem as this, just posted in the noobie forum. Wondering if it's relating to the i3 graphics stuff which goes on with this motherboard?
