VDPAU - Looking For A New Video Card That Supports It

I had originally had my eye on the GeForce GTX 470

It had a good price on Newegg and included 1280 MB of VRAM.

But then I read a post about this video card, that mentioned some problems using it with VDPAU:
It's very slow with composite (around 1 frame per 10-15 seconds)

Which leads me to my question for everyone here...

Can someone recommend a Nvidia video card

    - works well with VDPAU
    - costs under $400
    - has at least 1 GB of VRAM
    - is made by a reliable brand (such as EVGA)

Thank you for reading, I look forward to your reply.

I just bought one of these for my new rig: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130558
, and it works great, but it breaks your budget. But this one should give also good results with VDPAU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130549

Indeed that one looks very nice, but as you guessed it breaks my budget.

I'm glad to hear that VDPAU is working well with SOME cards.

That is the same card I checked.

Though the price and VRAM are great, I've read a report that this card has bugs with VDPAU:

            Hi...

it's possible I missed something but DrSuSE, in his post (#4) here, mentioned that he didn't have any problems with the 9800GT running VDPAU. I checked to see if the model would meet your requirements and voila!
