Updating kernel with nvidia drivers

Hi, I installed the nvidia drivers using the additional drivers program.
Kpackagekit is now offering to update my kernel.


I'm wondering, If I go ahead and update the kernel then, surely, when I reboot xserver will fail to load the driver as it
has not been built against the latest kernel.

Am I, therefore, best to disable the nvidia drivers via additional drivers program to update or is there another way.

When you use proprietary nvidia driver and install it with the "additional driver" tool it install dkms too.

The dkms tool and the linux headers that are already present in Maverick (correct me if I'm wrong anybody) is enough to rebuild and integrate any new kernel/new nvidia driver coming from updates. If you have a new kernel or a new nvidia driver your updates are just a little bit longer.
