My Toshiba Satellite A105 hasn't so much as burped since I installed the new hard drive a year ago. The other day however after sub-par performance using Grooveshark it refused to boot up. I get as far as the Pre-execution environment, and then a cursor. That's all.
Now I can still bring up the 10.04 demo on CD - it offers to install, I can get online etc. So.. what is happening here? The hardware seems just fine. But I haven't the education to troubleshoot this much further than inquiring here and the ubuntu forums. How can I begin troubleshooting this? Sorry for the lack of details. Thanks for your consideration.
