Out of the blue shutdown, logout, restart does not work (wicd also disapeared)

Hello,

just out of the blue any of the logout, shutdown, restart functions do not work in kde. Besides, wicd dissapeared from the panel, so I have to start it manually. I do not know if this is somehow related, but both events occured simultaneously.

Before, everything worked just fine.

Could anyone help?
