    Volume increases after restart (solved)

    This odd problem just started.

I verify my sound is turned down to say 9 in KMix then shutdown. When my desktop comes back up, the volume is up to 44. The hardware volume was not touched.

    Re: Volume increases after restart

Recently (can't recall where) I saw a lengthy discussion about volume setting conflicts between KMix, Alsa, and PulseAudio. IIRC, one of the suggestions to eliminate your problem is to instruct KMix not to restore volumes on login. Try that and let us know if it works for you.

I never knew that options existed.

      That fixed it. Thanks.

I finally remembered where I saw this workaround. I posted more info in the Bugs forum.
