How install Akonadi, Nepomuk, hook to Kontact, Akonadi logs

    MASSIVE EDIT: MASSIVE EDIT:

Please go to the second post for the very simple way to install Akonadi, Nepomuk and how to "hook" them to Kontact.

I leave the logs for people to study as they may. If MODERATORS want to truncate the post or remove this part and leave the second post I hereby give permission to do so.

    HI
I suddenly realized that the "how to" that i did on setting up Kontact and the comment on Akonadi had changed a "how to" into a "support thing". So, I'm moving the information here.

I quite realize that Akonadi is in it's formative stages and that it only, as of now, supports the contacts and the calendar but I'm going to post my logs so that possibly somebody might get an insight.

I did a complete removal of Akonadi and Nepomuk and did updates etc. and let things sit and then reinstalled, I presently have Strigi doing indexing and Nepomuk is there but it isn't working for the mysql database for Akonadi.

On Kubuntu Trinity Lucid from Summer 2010 with metacity.

Here is the initial Akonadi analysis that I posted in the how to:

Re: How install Akonadi, Nepomuk, hook to Kontact, Akonadi logs

Nepomuk, Akonadi, Kontact, e-mail, contacts, install,

Kubuntu forums will have, I think, the very first, simple statement of how to get these three things working. Please see my how-to.

The simple answer was a COMPLETE uninstall and reinstall.

That entailed, unfortunately, redoing the K-mail settings, but it worked.

MODERATORS.....if anyone wants to remove this thread please do so, you have my complete permission, unless you want to keep the top post and delete the text and have a pointer to the how to.
