How do I disable screen brightness auto adjustment

One really annoying feature with Kubuntu Lucid that I can't figure out how to get rid off:
After a short time, Kubuntu resets the screen brightness to the level set in the power management profile. And I can't find a way to disable this.

Yes, I can enter settings and adjust the brightness for that particular profile. But if I move my laptop somewhere else where lightning is different, I don't want to enter settings just to adjust the screen brightness.

I would like to adjust the screen brightness manually, using fn+f9/f10, without interference from system settings. How do I make that possible?

    Hi,

go to "Power Management" system setting -> "Power Profiles". Then choose the profile you want to adjust and disable the option "Dim Display".
