    Firefox does not install

    Hi,
I'm trying to get Firefox to install, but the installer did not work. I tried Kpackagekit and Synaptic, and even

    Code:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install firefox
It tried to install, but this is what it said at the end:

    Code:
    update-alternatives: error: alternative path /usr/bin/firefox doesn't exist.
    Any help appreciated.

BTW: installing Chromium returned with same errors, but after a second try it worked, I'm using it now to type this in here.

    Re: Firefox does not install

I'm not a current user of FF but I use Thunderbird. Ubuntuzilla is still the easiest way for me to get the software.Check this out.

Follow the directions to add the repository and then issue sudo apt-get install firefox-mozilla-build. It's a very reliable way to get the official build of firefox.
