    Akonadi fails on bootup

I am running a fresh install of Kubuntu Lucid 10.04. After bootup if i look at the Akonadi System Tray Utility it reports that Akonadi isnt running. The first 2 errors under the details are :-
Akonadi control process not registered at D-bus
Akonadi server process not registered at D-bus
However if i go into the Akonadi Server Configuration and start it, it then runs fine.
    The error report shows:-
