[SOLVED] WICD on ACER ONE 110L.. No IP Address

I've searched the forum, and carried out all the steps suggested. My wifi is working... that is, WICD sees all the nearby access points, and it connects to my router using the password info I entered, but then it times out every time while waiting for an IP address.

No IP address, no connection, no Wifi. Just spent a week on the road looking for places to plug in my ethernet cable, and my last stop didn't have one.... wireless only.

Would really love to solve this. even if it means uninstalling WICD and going to another connection manager. Using Kubuntu 10.04 on the ACER One 110L

Well, it seems that this is one of those cases where the best thing to do is nothing.

Opened my netbook today, and WICD and wifi were working with no problem at all. Connected to my router and got my IP address and browsed the net just as you would expect.

Don't know what fixed it, but it's working and that's all I need.
