Installing Gnome under Kbuntu

I am using kubunto Lucid Lynx and would like to install the Gnome desktop and have a choice of using KDE or GNOME. I have read some "How tos" but I want to make sure I don't break something and install correctly.

Also, is switching desktops a choice only at start up or can it be done while running one or the other?

Command line preferred over pointing and clicking a bunch of buttons

    thanx

    Re: Installing Gnome under Kbuntu

you can install "ubuntu gnome " easy
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
if it seams to have stalled durring install its asking you a question about if you want kde or gdm to be default login manager.

you can have multi X sessions on differenty tty sessions, and switch between them , each one using a different enviroment (but i have never tried to do it). mostly i just log out then log in the the enviroment i want..
