    Using WINE

I have managed to download WINE and get a piece of Windows software to run using WINE.

The software is for programming a two-way radio, and offers a selection of Com ports for connecting to the radio. I prefer to use USB for that connection, and the software allows this.

If I download the USB drivers for this software, where do I put them. The Windows program is in my Downloads directory, and Wine is where ever it puts itself. Or can I skip this... will my USB port be identified as one of the Com ports?? Or does Linux provide the drivers I need (my other USB devices run without problem)??

    Thanks
    Bob

    Re: Using WINE

I use wine but haven't run into this. I'd say (although maybe not bet the house on it) if you're installing windows drives, they would need to be installed in windows - i.e. in your wine install.

As far as accessing USB devices using wine: http://wiki.winehq.org/USB
