Okay, I'll try to present my problem as precise as I can:
- During the starting of KDE (v 4.5.1, Kubuntu Lucid) the screen went black and I had to restart X.
- After that, when I choose KDE in KDM and try to login, the splash screen shows for about a second, then the screen goes black, and returns to KDM.
- Logging in to different graphic environments (openbox, fluxbox, LXDE, awesome) works fine.
- Logging in of other users into KDE works fine.
- Renaming/moving of ~/.kde and ~/.config didn't change anything.
- When I login into one of the other DEs and run startkde in terminal, this is the output I get:
- Also, when I login to other DEs the KDE apps (Amarok, krusader) won't start. I cannot recall the exact message I got in terminal, but it was something like (can't connect to bus).
I suppose I could try moving everything out of my home folder or creating a new user for myself, but that isn't exactly solving the problem.
I don't really understand that output up there. Is kded the culprit? If so, how do I "reset" kded?
Are there any ideas? Please help!
