    panel time display

Jut noticed that the panel digital clock display is 12 hr format. Tried changing to 24 hr format which I greatly prefer.

    No option to do so.

I know there was in the past because I had always set it to 24 hr format.

Can it be changed to 24 hr format?

Or is this another one of those things that has been left to the underlying GUI libraries and which the developers thereof are offering only one way of doing things?

It seems that more and more of the options that used to be available in Kubuntu are disappearing because the underlying GUI libraries don't offer a way of supporting the option. I cannot enumerate the options that I think have disappeared, but it seems to me that the options that I used to really like are gradually disappearing at the whims of the library developers and their preferred way of doing things.

I know, I know, they cannot support all the ways of doing things, but when there is only one way, their way, I wonder if I'll still like Linux/Kubuntu as much.

You change the format - 12 or 24 hour time - in System Settings > Locale > Country/Region & Language > Time & Dates > Time Format and select HH:MM:SS
It won't affect your current clock until you log back in. Or, remove the widget and then reinstall it.
