hi
in ubuntu I use
xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode 1280x800 --scale 1.5x1.5
to increase the resolution of my small laptop screen. It gives me a
(interpolated/scaled) resolution of 1920x1200 wich is nice for large windows.
Although fonts appear a bit more fuzzy, it is perfectly all right.
In kde unfortunately, the command messes up the screen, at least
the last time I tried (6 months a go or so). Has anyone used this trick
for working on small laptop screens? Does it work now? It should be
built into the kde gui. I never use my laptop without it..
