The cause of the failure was traced down to a setting on my Router to enable a DMZ Host (the xbox).

hmm... correction. It seems I violated one of my primary troubleshooting rules last night... only make 1 modification at a time when looking for a different outcome.... well, I made several at once, and assumed it was the DMZ Host that had the affect, however, during my re-configuring last night, I disconnected the wi-fi adapter on the xBox, and hard-lined it. Tonight, when I put it back up on my dresser and re-connected the wi-fi, it could no longer find the uShare server. So for now until I get a cat5 cable longer than 4', it sits on the floor as far from the dresser as the av cable will allow while the d-link switch is as far from the pc as I can get it, but we are connected.

Just thought I would clarify incase anyone stumbles on this trying to set one up. I will turn off the DMZ later (when we are done watching Shows for the night) and report back whether or not that has any effect at all on this setup.
