I've never been able to have my picture displayed at login screen. I've followed various guides, including this http://docs.kde.org/stable/en/kdebas...dmconfig-users, and this related post http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/inde...opic=3112625.0, but no joy! After fiddling with the various settings under Users tab, the snapshot attached shows where I am, currently. Can please anyone help? Many thanks!

Checklist:
1) A KDM theme with the support for the user list. System Settings > Login Manager > Theme
2) User image. System Settings > Login Manager > Users.
At here
The default "Ethais" theme does not have the user list option.

You can edit the theme or make a new theme:
K > Applications > Help
Help > Control Center Modules > Login Manager
(Chapter 6. Creating themes for the kdm greeter)
1) Getting a KDM theme with the user list support.
System Settings > Login Manager > Theme
(> KDE-Look.org >> Simply)

2) Setting the user image.
System Settings > Login Manager > Users.

Log out / Boot - and there is a new log in screen with the user "face"

Re: I can't set Login Screen to display my picture
Thank you so much, Rog131! You're always a wealth of information.
So, that was why: basically, Ethais doesn't support this feature. Unfortunately, documentation isn't clear on this, and users who keep trying in the end just give up thinking it doesn't work properly. A couple of words in the Description under Copyright would be really helpful, indeed: something along the lines of "supports user images" or "doesn't support user images".
However, I tried a couple of new themes, but the contrast with the rest of the login process just clashed unpleasantly, for me, and I'm back to Ethais. Thanks again!
