And please, read this post http://ohioloco.ubuntuforums.org/sho...30&postcount=7
So you got it indeed working... very interesting.

Ok, I ran kdesudo systemsettings, switched to a different style, clicked Apply, changed back to Oxygen, clicked Apply, and closed sytemsettings again. Just as expected however, kdesudo dolphin still has the Oxygen style - *nothing* has changed.

You must've done something else which made styles apply properly for Kde apps run as root, and which has *nothing* to do with that hint from that ubuntuforums post.
    What else did you do?
I've only did that, nothing more, only those steps

But i've tried on other computer and this method does not work, only on my computer and on those users with the same problem on ubuntuforums....

Of course it does not work. You must've done something else additionally on your computer to get it to work.
Thus my question, what else did you do? Think about it.

Actually, those in that ubuntuforum thread had a completely different problem - they couldn't get the Oxygen style to work for Kde root apps in the first place (for whatever reason). Once they got the Oxygen style to work, they considered it "fixed". No one of them ever tried to set a style different from Oxygen for Kde apps run as root.

          Ok!!! Try this:

          - Install qt4-qtconfig
          - Now execute kdesudo qtconfig, select your style (don't use Desktop Settings (Default), because this is the really problem!!!)

Now your kde apps opened with kdesudo have the selected style!!!

@Fenix: Also doesn't work kdesudo qtconfig changes properly to Oxygen, but all other kdesudo programs not.

But you selected your style? I've tried a lot of times, using differents styles with "kdesudo qtconfig", selecting every style, and then, opening an application, kdesudo dolphin, and it has the style selected on qtconfig.

Forgot to say that you must Save the changes -> File -> Save on qtconfig!!!

Yes, I selected my style. And yes, I saved it via File>>>Save. But still the problem is here

Not so here. Updated to Kde 4.5.1 yesterday. kdesudo dolphin etc. are *still* fixed to Oxygen, and you can't set any other style for them. Updating to 4.5.1 did nothing to fix the problem.

Installed the package using Synaptic (it's called qtconfig-qt4, not the other way round). Then I first ran it as ordinary user, selected "QtCurve" from the list (it wasn't selected already), selected File > Save and closed it again.
Then I ran kdesudo qtconfig-qt4, again selected "QtCurve as the style (also here it wasn't selected already), and again selected File > Save also here.
This fixed it for me! kdesudo dolphin is now using QtCurve, as it should!

Sorry, i've changed the name on the post :P I've verified that it's qt4-qtconfig on Muon.

I'm glad that it's working now!!!

Edit: After a restart, it's working here too

But Yuri, it's really called qt4-qtconfig in Adept.

the package is "qt4-qtconfig" (at least on maverick qt 4.7-rc) but the executable is "qtconfig-qt4" (although you can run it with just "qtconfig" if your /etc/alternatives/qtconfig points to the qt4 version). That probably caused the confusion.

@kubicle: Hmm, indeed. Weird that they package it like that if the executable is the other way around
