    KDE 4.5 : cannot chnage widget style as sudo/kdesudo/root

    I want to change widget style for apps running as sudo (i.e kpackagekit, muon, etc...). As usual, I did "kdesudo systemsettings" and chose different style from Oxygen and clicked apply, but style wouldn't change. Can anyone else try it and see if it works for you?

    Doesn't work for me either. I've run kdesudo systemsettings and set QtCurve as style, but while the preview is fine, it's never applied. Reboot doesn't help. Root Kde apps always use Oxygen, no matter what.
    Root Gtk apps (e.g. Synaptic) use the QtCurve style which I set using kdesudo gtk-chtheme, so they're not affected by this.

      Well, at least I'm not the only one affected. I don't know if this is Kubuntu specific or KDE 4.5's bug.

        Same problem here
        Most important laptop specs (this is my main computer, with Kubuntu on it):<br /><br />4096MB RAM (DDR2)<br />500GB Hard Disk<br />ATI Mobility Radeon 4570HD Videocard with 512MB GDDR3 RAM, up to 2280MB VRAM<br />Intel® Core™ 2 Duo-processor T6600<br /><br />OS: Kubuntu 10.10

          The same here, colors works fine, but not style.

            Not related to Kde 4.5, was that way already before it.

            No problem with custom colours for the root account, but it just won't apply the style >

              But i didn't have this problem on KDE 4.4.5

                I didn't had this problem in 4.4.x either.

                        The bug I've filed for this had been marked as a duplication of this bug:

                        Someone in charge of this bug claimed to have fixed it in package qt4-x11, but it still doesn't solve the problem we have here; not for Maverick or Lucid.

                          Indeed, it's another bug. I commented on it, so hopefully they change it back.

                            The fix for 600646 indeed does nothing to fix this bug.
                            I have therefore removed the wrongly marked "Duplicate" status.

                              Many moons ago I had this problem on sidux using KDE 3.x
                              I resolved it by running systemsettings with kdesu instead of sudo and it did change.

                              Not sure if it will work in this case but might be worth a try.
