Hi all! Here http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.5/applications.php it says: "Users who prefer to use WebKit as the rendering engine can now rely on the KDE-WebKit KPart". Unfortunately, I can't find any setting relating to it, nor any tutorial. Has anyone successfully applied this feature? Can you please share the steps to achieve that? Many thanks!

It is very easy. If you have already installed webkitkde and webkit kpart,
1- Open Konqueror->Settings->File Management->File Associations
2- Select text/html from the file association "tree"
3- In "embedding" tab, move "Webkit(WebkitKpart)" to top ("Move Up")
4- Save ("Apply") settings
Regards.

A large part of the options in Konqueror's config are in reality KHTML options. Until the WebKit KPart supports these they will remain ineffective. This is one reason why the KPart is not yet ready to be the default renderer for Konqueror.

Hmm, I see, thanks for the info. It's a pity, though. When I have no spellchecker, I realise hwo muhc Ive kome to reliy onn eet in taim . On the other hand, Rekonq is missing spellcheck as well.
On top of that, since I switched to webkit on Konqueror, middle-click seems to have stopped working, no matter how I tweak its settings. So I decided to file a bug for that, and switch back to KHTML, for now. Functionality still wins over speed.

Re: [SOLVED] How can I set KDE-WebKit KPart rendering engine on Konqueror (KDE 4.5)?
Regarding the problem I had with mouse middle-click, in the bug report they discovered Kubuntu ships with "a rather old version of kwebkitpart. Because of some mishap the latest version should say 0.9.6 and not 1.0.0.", like mine says, in fact. They think "perhaps that is confusing the distro packagers and they are not updating
it", and I agree, in fact, that a smaller number doesn't exactly look like an "update".
However, since it's a distro problem, they suggested to "poke whomever is responsible to update the kwebkitpart package from extragear" because "they should use the latest version for KDE >= 4.4". Now, I've asked on #kubuntu channel, but got no reply. Does anyone know how to go about it? Many thanks!
EDIT: I was redirected to #kubuntu-devel, where people are taking care of things now. Thanks anyway!

And it made the browser very sluggish.
So I'm back with KHTML.
