    Updated my system to 4.4.92

Everything seems fine except now Konqueror won't play flash video, specifically from Youtube. I can however hear sound fine. Firefox plays without any problems, but i'd rather use Konqueror.
Any tips on what might be the problem? I don't really know where to start.

Konqueror and flash have a love-hate relationship, err make that a hate-hate one

you may want to try out webkit for Konq by installing the package kpart-webkit. After restarting Konw, you can go to a page, and then in the "view" menu, select 'View Mode' - webkit. It can cause Konq to crash, though.

I'll give it a try, thanks Clay.

Alternatively, you could use rekonq, which is an improved version of Konqueror and using webkit by default.
You can find the latest version 0.5 here:

I wouldn't know, as I don't use it. I just heard people talking that it's a much improved version of Konqueror.

It's indeed improved, but the author needs to work on the stableness of Rekonq.

By the way, since KDE 4.5 final is delayed for a week, does anone know if we get KDE 4.4.93 (RC3)?

It's already weekend, and next Tuesday the final comes out, so probably no.

I don't think there are any plans to, Maverick iirc actually has the 4.5.0 already - early access to the code - but as we will see 4.5.1 officially released next week, there is no real reason to do so.

rekonq isn't an improvement in Konqueror per se, it is webkit-based instead of khtml-based, and has it's own ui and features, but it does use Konqueror's bookmarks.

Ehm, dunno where you got that from, but 4.5.0 is delayed for a week.

Actually no, it's 4.5.0 that will be released next Tuesday with one week of delay.
4.5.1 will be released next month.

Kubuntu, and other distros get sort of pre-access to the codebase so that they can get packages started so they can be made available soon after the official release. Maverick in fact has 4.5.0 as it was originally set to be.

I thought I saw a post or blog somewhere mentioning 4.5.1, maybe it was 4.5.a or something (4.5.0.1? ) along those lines, so I did get that wrong. But I am posting this from Maverick and what is labeled 4.5.0 so it probably in reality should be considered rc3 or 4

                            Uhm, actually, you're not right:

                            Maverick Alpha 3:

                            What's New In Alpha 3
-Dragon continues on as the default video player
-Message Indicator support is enabled by default for Kopete and Quassel
-The KDE Platform was updated to the latest 4.5 release candidate. 4.5 Final is set to be released on August 10.
-Qt was updated to the current 4.7 beta release.

The current kde packages are labeled 4.5.0 because they were built from the sources that were supposed to be released as KDE SC 4.5 a week ago...and the packages were built before KDE decided to delay the release for a week.

So current KDE in maverick is newer than RC3 but not FINAL (Looks like the final 4.5 packages due august 10 coming will be labeled 4.5.0b in the repos)
