What happened to /etc/X11/xorg.conf

I remember the day's when I had to create a xorg.conf file manually before I could start a X environment. Over the years things
got so much easier, it seems to just work automatically. Is there a xorg.conf file anymore? I would like to tweak it, mainly comment out the DPRMS option. Maybe this is old news but I was absent that day.

it's not there anymore, but can be recreated

Thank you for the link, that explained alot. But I am curious still because I dont have /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d apparently that is
where the new conf file is. So I am led to believe it's all hard coded.
I am gonna try my luck at using Xorg -configure to create a xorg.conf file, I like the old way!

Just feel better when there's a /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.

I dont have /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d

The *new* files are in /usr/lib/X11/xorg.conf.d/ (it's a directory)

But, maybe thats because tonight I went back to 9.10

On maverick, it has been moved to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ (Just an off-topic remark )

Anyway, you can still create a /etc/X11/xorg.conf file if you wish (in all versions).
