Netbook Remix - Search and launch - Applications not added

Application menu items are not added to launcher. An example is "kdesvn". Installing it should add Development category with an application launcher. How can I correct this? I want the Development category displayed.

    Thanks,

All applications that you've added are not adding their icons to the menu, or just kdesvn?

The occasional app does not add a menu icon for me. When that fails to happen (it hasn't happened in 10.4, so far) I edit the menu and add it myself.

The first thing I do is identify the binary executable, using Konsole:
locate bin/someappname (or part of it, using wildcards). ( I first may have to do "sudo updatedb" to make sure locate is up todate.)

Then I right mouse on the KMenu and chose "Menu Editor".
Then I pick the right subdirectory in the menu where I want to put the menu item and create a new menu item. I edit that menu item, putting in the menu name, the binary name, and the icon.
Then I click the save button.

It seems that the procedure you recommend applies to kubuntu desktop (which I run on another computer) not kubuntu netbook remix. I have not found a way to edit the menu entries in remix. As far as your question about which applications: it appears that new categories are not added to launcher. For example, any applications that appear under Development will not appear as Development is not displayed. They are found with the search feature however.
