Unable to update the package cache

Odd error I thought would clear up in a week or so, but hasn't cleared yet. I attempt to update/refresh the package cache from kpackagekit and I receive the following error:

Are you attempting to update the package cache via KPackageKit? Have you tired from the console with:

sudo apt-get update

Looks like there are 'issues' (temporary) with your two ppa sources:

Err http://ppa.launchpad.net lucid/main Packages
404 Not Found

and

W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/claydoh/kmy...64/Packages.gz 404 Not Found

This does sometimes occur. Just try again a bit later.

I have the same problem and have had it for several days. How long do I have to wait?

Actually, taking a closer look at launchpad entries in my source lists, I see this:

Why are there so many entries for "lucid main"? Which one gets priority?

the "lucid main" part is just a location in the repo for the packages that pertane to your system.

you can open all those locations in your web browser and navagate thrugh them to get the idea.

and yes I'd cleen up that mess...................however eney thing installed frome those repos you remove will not get updated frome thare eney more.........if the location still exsists.

Thanks, but I don't know what is junk and what is not. What should I keep?

I will try getting rid of everything in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/. I don't see any of that on my backup system. The /etc/apt/sources.list files agree on the two systems.

Claydoh is maintaining KMymoney, so you might want to CP him here about the W: Failed to fetch http://ppa.launchpad.net/claydoh/kmy...64/Packages.gz 404 Not Found error.

Post the contents of your /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kubuntu-ppa-ppa-lucid.list for a review please.

Here it is, only one line:

Since, I have removed everything in /etc/apt/sources.list.d and it all works fine now. I have added the repo for KDE 4.3.3 and done a dist-upgrade. I must now restart KDE to see how that works.
