    Mysterious Java Plugin

    Hi,
I'm trying to install the Java SE 6 plugin using the Software Management utility. It shows it as installed but when I look at aboutlugins in Firefox it doesn't show as being installed. No version of Java shows up in plugins yet if I go to Sun's Java verification page it says I have Java version 1.6 installed.

    Any ideas anyone

    Thanks

Sounds like everything is working correctly except Firefox's plugins report utility.

When you go to aboutlugins, does IcedTea show up?

Yes it does and now that I read it I see the fact that it executes Java. Thanks. Why does Kubuntu do it that way? Why not just straight Java?
