Hello.
Ever since Jaunty, the volume control app (kmix) is slow to react when other resource-heavy processes are running (like a flash stream or a compile) - sometimes it takes about 10 seconds for kmix to react to my laptop volume softkeys (it's not analog sound adjust). And the change in volume is sometimes disproportionate to the number of presses. It's getting really annoying, especially since I'm often using headphones and I'm pushing the volume + one time and after 5 seconds it goes up to about 80 % (the equivalent of maybe 4 presses), which is quite painful.
I'm running Kubuntu Lucid, KDE 4.4.4, KMix 3.6 with HDA Intel. Like i said, my HP nx7300 laptop has softkeys for volume control. Not sure what else might be relevant.
