    FlashPlayer Install doesn't work

    Hi

First I'm sorry if this question has come up before I couldn't find anything via search that was helpful.

I cannot get flashplayer to work with firefox. I have tried numerous methods:

    sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
I have downloaded the tar.gz and put libflashplugin.so in the firefox plugins folders.
I have tried installing it via the kubuntu package manager.
I have tried using the flashplugin installer

after each method I have restarted firefox and used the aboutlugins command to look at my plugins each time to find that it is not installed.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Here, Kubuntu 10.04 32-bit, Firefox 3.6.3, Flash works properly.

    paul@mybrainonlinux:~$ locate libflashplayer.so
    /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
    /usr/share/ubufox/plugins/libflashplayer.so

    paul@mybrainonlinux:~$ ls -l /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11787664 2010-06-12 21:49 /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so

    paul@mybrainonlinux:~$ ls -l /usr/share/ubufox/plugins/libflashplayer.so
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 48 2010-06-12 21:49 /usr/share/ubufox/plugins/libflashplayer.so -> /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
    Note: /usr/share/ubufox/plugins/libflashplayer.so is a link to /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/libflashplayer.so
Windows no longer obstructs my view.

          Re: FlashPlayer Install doesn't work

I still cannot install flash player. even when the browser is off.
the package manager shows that flash player is installed, but using command sudo apt-get install adobe-flashplugin gives this result:
          Reading package lists... Done
          Building dependency tree
          Reading state information... Done
Package adobe-flashplugin is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
          any clue?
          Cheers, -Linda

            Shouldn't be the command line
            Code:
            $ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
            ?
Kubuntu 16.04 on two computers and Kubuntu 17.04 on DELL Latitude 13

yes it should. also be sure during the config step you have internet connect and no browsers open as thats when the install package will download and install the flash plugin from the adobe site.

                Re: FlashPlayer Install doesn't work

browser closed and internet connection is working, this is the results:
                linda@linda-VAIO:~$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer
                [sudo] password for linda:
                Reading package lists... Done
                Building dependency tree
                Reading state information... Done
flashplugin-installer is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 4 not upgraded.

and yet still none of my browsers are able to play flash player...
                Cheers, -Linda

remove the package first. and be sure you don't have the google plugin installed (i completely for got about that ) you can reinstall the google talk plugin afterwards.

right removing older installs had been a thing that is on the net.
