    No Admin. options in menu (Solved)

    Lots of sites talk about a menu section called:

    System->Administration-> [whatever]

    here's an example: http://www.winehq.org/download/deb

    But I don't have that System->Administration-> area in my menu at all.

    I'm also missing any links to konsole, a root file browser, save kde session, jockey-kde, or a heck of a lot of other Admin. related controls. What's going on here?

    Thanks,
    Lance

    Re: No Admin. options in menu

    That's because the help section was written for Ubuntu (GNome). Kubuntu (KDE) is different. What you need to do is:

    KDE Menu --> Applications --> Settings --> System Settings. From there you have "Add and Remove Software". Once in there go to settings --> Edit Software Sources. From there it should follow correctly.

    System Settings is also the location of other "Admin" sections.

      It was more complicated than just being a gnome illustration, large chunks of programs were missing from the menu at installation. I found a "restore to system menu" option in the KDE menu editor. That restored all the missing items.

      Thanks,
