    (Auto-hideable) taskbar (?) / menubar (?) gone black - where to change?

    <sigh>

    Have just installed 10.04 under vbox in xp.

    Somehow, somewhere along the way, the menubar (?) / taskbar (?) / don't know what to call it [panel settings will let me change the height] / I can set auto-hide and it pops up and down for me - went dark / black. Very hard to read.

    Where do I go (within systemsettings, presumably) to change the background colour of that bar?

    Thanks.

    <frustrated>

    You just need to change your theme, That is in system settings / Appearance / Colors, if you don't like the themes already there, you can click on get new Schemes on the right, you will have hundreds to chose from. You can chose to install many themes, then when you get back to the main window you can chose the one you like best and it will change Window colors and your taskbar color.

    Hope that helps...

      You can customize the theme you are using in system settings-> desktop look (or similar, mine is in german)->desktop design->details
