Amarok 'where for art thou' (SOLVED)

    Excuse the poor 'quote'.

I clicked on 3 packages that were an Amarok upgrade a couple of days ago and now cannot see the prog. in a window or the icon in the tray even though it appears to load ('amarok' in terminal says 'Amarok already running') so I take it that it is there - but it is shy.

How do I get the window and icon back?

No expert .. but .. I guess you have tried a reboot?
How about uninstalling and re-installing amarok?
Conflict is sleep. Peace is awakening.

      Aye,

As you rightly guess all that done but same result which seems really odd to me. Normally a re-install clears things especially if you clean out any bits and pieces left behind.

Any takers on this - I'm puzzled (which doesn't take much!)

Try remove these (first one is a folder):

          ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok
          ~/.kde/share/config/amarok-appletsrc
          ~/.kde/share/config/amarok_homerc
          ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc

Well, backup those files first though. It will wipe all configs, settings, collection info, cover arts, playlist, etc.

            Hi,

            GREAT - worked a treat!

I did not do anything with the directory just rm the latter three items - started Amarok and everything as usual.

            Thanks.
