I'm using Firefox and when I try to save pictures nothing happens.

Could it be that the site you want to save from is blocked for copying text and graphics?

I do that on my sites that I make.

Try searching for an image on google and click on save image as

Some sites block that function.

Try opening the image in a new window, then saving. Or worse case, use wget to copy the whole page and then delete all the crap you don't want.

Problem with the kmozillahelper. Restart firefox and you can save image as again. Happened to me lots of time already.

Could be the mozilla-kde4-intergration.

Did you upgrade to kde4.4.3?

I have had the same problem since the day I have done a fresh install from lucid. I have KDE 4.4.2. Sometimes my save as in Firefox works, but most of the time if does not work. I installed Arora and use it to do a "save as" on the Internet.

I've encountered this problem aswel. You can save image from the image properties, but it's pretty annoying to save pics that way. Sure it's just few more clicks you need to do but at least I would prefer the regular way.
Restarting mozilla helps for sometime but then it strikes again.
I don't think I've upgraded to kde4.4.3 but will check that when I get back to my flat. Which is in few weeks.
