Storebackup does not work

Hi!
Since I upgraded from 9.4. to 9.10 storebackup stopped working. Now I have 10.4 and the problem remains. The error I get is:

environment variable $~$ not set
please set $~$ before calling this program at /usr/share/storebackup/lib/checkParam2.pl line 536.

Any ideas?

I haven't used storebackup sorry. But a lot of people like and use luckybackup its very configurable rsync GUi and can also be a teaching tool as it will show you the commandline its creating and running in the GUI. Pretty sure its in the default repositories. Actively developed and updated which is a huge plus in the open source world.
