    [Solved] Taskbar flickers between windows

I'm not quite sure how best to describe this issue, but let's have a go...

I have a panel at the bottom of my screen that's just a taskbar for switching between running applications -- all the launchers, sys tray, etc are in a panel at the top. The taskbar has an incredibly annoying habit. When I left-click on an application in order to switch to it, that application will be displayed, but then when I move the cursor off the taskbar, the display will often (not always) switch randomly to some other open application.

I've tried fiddling with every mouse, touchpad, and taskbar setting I can find. No joy. I assume it's a problem with the taskbar, because application switching using alt+tab works fine.

    Any ideas? Thanks!

Errr OK, sorted it myself. I hadn't fiddled with every touchpad setting, and it turns out that the problem was related to having horizontal and vertical scrolling enabled on it. Seems the taskbar is very, very sensitive to scrolling and interprets it as a command to switch windows.
