    Use Kmail-adressbook in Kmail-composer?

    Here's a question from a Newbie:

I added all the email-addresses to the address book in Kmail.

Still, when I open the composer ("New Message") and try the button "select" right to the "to"-address field, I only see addresses I recently used. Not the ones in my address book, although I tried with both choices "all" and "default address book" within the "select" window.

My thoughts: Maybe I have to define my address book ("personal contacts") as the "default address book" somewhere - but where?
Or is there actually a bug in Kmail that makes contacts, that not yet have been used, inaccessible from the composer, although they exist in the address book?

    Very grateful for advise!

The issue is with Akonadi and KDE Resources. Both have to be setup properly. Unfortunately, this isn't done for you.

I'll try to post a quick 'n dirty HOWTO later, as I have mine setup the way it's "supposed" to be, both in Akonadi and KDE Resources. I no longer get Akonadi errors when I launch Kontact, and my address book is seen and managed the way it is supposed to.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

      That will be great!
      Looking forward to your post!
If possible, please comment a little more on that Anakodi - KDE resources stuff (or refer to a suitable link maybe?)
It's more fun do understand what I'm doing than only doing it........
