Power Management is not doing its job (is kpowersave still available?)

I have not been happy with power management in Lucid. I have tried every possible configuration in order to prevent my screensaver from turning on when I'm watching something in my browser. I really miss kpowersave but I've noticed it's no longer in the repos. Is there a way to get kpowersave working so I can go back to it? And, if anyone has a way to manually edit the present power management settings, please enlighten me.

    Thanks!

I added the karmic universe repository in the hopes of getting kpowersave. I'm not sure if this is a wise move. It wants to install
    kdelibs-data kdelibs4c2a kpowersave launchpad-integration libavahi-qt3-1 libdbus-qt-1-1c2
    liblua50 liblualib50 libqt3-mt
. I'll do some research on these packages before I install them.
