Do your self a favor. Just get 10.04 installed. Don't do any customization. Just install Synaptic. Then Medibuntu. Then the three packages I identified. If you have questions on any of that, ask here first.

Flash is now working, but the videos at MSN.com do not play.

Did you add the Medibuntu repository and add the packages from there for the non-free stuff? Medibuntu

Don't worry. I can't play the videos at www.msn.com either. No surprise - likely a proprietary video format; it is after all, a M$ site. :P
