Panel icons not resizing properly in 10.04

I have just upgrade to 10.04. Had a few hiccups, but everything seems settled now, except for a minor annoyance. I have my panel at a fairly large height (I'm running a 1600 x 1200 display) and since the upgrade the icons on the panel will not resize fully to match the panel height. They will shrink down but if I increase the panel height they seem to stop around 32 x 32 (I'm guessing). This was not a problem before. If I go into System Settings and try to change panel icon size it is locked at 32x32 and I cannot change it.

    Anyone got any suggestions?

My panel seems to have one rather precise "sweet spot" width where the icons grow to an appropriate size... if I make the panel just a little wider, they shrink again!

I just tried playing with the panel width but did not seem to make a difference. As I increase the height of the panel the icons will grow to a certain point and then snap back down to a fixed smaller size.
