    LTS Point Release...

I was wondering how the LTS point releases work?

    -How are they installed?
is it done through kpackagekit or do you download a new live disc and reinstall?

-What do they usually update/upgrade ? what are the defined limits up updating?
ie will it update firefox from a 3.6.x to 3.7.x? Will kde go from 4.4.x to 4.5.x?

    -When are they released?
(When is the first point released scheduled)

    Thnx in advance!

...These point releases will include support for new hardware as well as rolling up all the updates published in that series to date. So a fresh install of a point release will work on newer hardware and will also not require a big download of additional updates.
If you have an up to date Kubuntu 10.04 then you have the Kubuntu 10.04.1, Kubuntu 10.04.2 , ...
    No need to reinstall.

First, microversion updates will be uploaded to a PPA and tested. Additionally, upstream bug reports and svn commits will be monitored for signs of regression. If regressions are detected, they will be resolved before moving forward. Once PPA testing is satisfactory, the packages will move to -proposed and the testing process will continue with a broader audience. Once testing is complete and the packages are sufficiently aged, they will be copied to -updates.
