    VMplayer issues

Can't get vmplayer 3.0.1 to open VMware interface. In LL LTS I get message about can't find linux-header 2.6.32-22did a browse for and checked it then asked forC header. I have gcc installed still no go.
In LL beta 2 it tries to work but locks up XP no error messages.
I'm thinking we may have to wait for the next build of VMplayer. If VM keeps to their release cycle it should be out soon.

    Re: VMplayer issues

Actually there's a Beta version of VMWare Player 3.1 available for download now. But I recommend against it -- it installs in debug mode, which is way slower than normal, and I can't see how to turn off debug (the instructions don't track to the available menus).

Anyway, the missing headers problem is not fixable with a different VMWare version. You have to install the package linux-headers-`uname -r`.

Actually, it may show in the repo as "linux-headers-2.6.32-22-generic", or something very close to that. Install that, then try again with VMWare Player. There's no reason 3.0.1 shouldn't build correctly, once you have the headers package installed.

I've added the right header but still get the message. I'll try again
