Saw your remark there. Was almost going to dist-upgrade to KDE 4.4.3 - had the ppa added and check the proposed and backports repos - but seeing what you said, decided to wait some more.

Well, after reading the comments on
KDE SC 4.4.3 is a recommended upgrade for everyone running KDE SC 4.4.2 or earlier versions. As the release only contains bugfixes and translation updates, it will be a safe and pleasant update for everyone.
I decided to go ahead and upgrade to KDE 4.4.3. No problems at all. Rebooted after the update, and here I am, with KDE 4.4.3. No problems.
