Re: Q: How to disable tooltips on the panel?
At work - not at my home PC. I've seen the setting - it's a check box. If it isn't in the Panel Settings, then it's in System Settings someplace. If you don't figure it out yourself, or someone else doesn't provide the answer, I'll look when I get home and post back.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: Q: How to disable tooltips on the panel?
I've unchecked every 'show tooltips' box I can find.
Nothing in the Panel and nothing I can find in System Settings.
Thanks

Re: Q: How to disable tooltips on the panel?
I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to turn off...
System Settings>Look & Feel>Appearance>Style>Fine Tuning>Toolbars
If you mean the Thumbnails on the Taskbar
System Settings>Look & Feel>Desktop>All Effects>Taskbar Thumbnails
If you mean the tooltips in the Task Manager - right click on an empty space in the Task Manager and you'll see Show Tooltips - uncheck it
