New Kubuntu Splash Screen not appearing at boot up....

Hey guys, I know this isn't a very big deal considering other problems occurring, but it would be nice if i could have it back haha.

So here it is: whenever i boot up my linux system, it does not show the new and cool kubuntu splash screen; it just shows a black screen until the login screen....

So how do i get this screen to work?

You'll need to tell us about your video card. Manufacture and model?

um... its an integrated card (laptop) and i think its a Mobile Intel graphics Media Accelerator 4500M. Although i don't think that is the case as the splash screen appears when it shuts down but doesn't on start up...

Do you know what Grub you are using - Legacy or Grub 2?

That doesn't answer the question: which version of Grub?

If this is a new install, then it's Grub 2. If this was an upgrade, and you were running Grub Legacy, and didn't opt to upgrade to Grub 2, then you are still using Grub Legacy.

Easy to find out. Open a console and cd into /boot/grub. If you see menu.lst there, then you are running Grub Legacy. If you don't, then you should have grub.cfg, and means you are running Grub 2.

Same problem here, after the upgrade to 10.04 with Grub2, i do not have a boot splash screen.
Shutdown gives me a very ugly splash screen.

                My system:

It has a workaround - how to make the boot slower so the Plymouth splash has time to show up.
