    I agree with dibl's latest post totally.

    I too no longer use a separate /home but it's because I have up to seven OS's installed when I'm playing around. I keep my data (docs, pics, music etc..) on a separate partition and let each install host it's own /home.

    That way I can play around without changing the user setting on the other installs.

    To make it seamless - I make sure I'm using identical user and group ID numbers.

      I use the separate /home partition in case something gets Fubar'd and I need to reinstall but want to keep all my settings etc. I only have one install of Kubuntu. NTFS is supported and all my partitions are recognized correctly, but I still setup the mount points and the partitions I want to format.

      I know I never had this problem with 8.10, 9.04 or 9.10. Anyways, I submit a bug report so someone knows about it and I'll just set up my Kubuntu partitions and my Windows partition, the rest I can easily do after install.

        Yeah - do that.

        I'll test it out on my system later tonight and see if I can duplicate your issue. I'm using the Alternate Install CD so it might have different results.
