    kernel update now cant boot

    please help
I just ran an upgrade and did the a kernel upgrade now I cant boot. It just hangs at the boot splash screen.
How do i make this go away so i can see what is going on? I hit ctl+f1 ctl+f2, Tab, ESC not working.

and another thing. how do i get the grub menu? just have kubuntu 10.4 installed but cannot boot the previous kernel because there is no menu WTF.

ctl+alt+del stil reboots. what can i do?

ok I don't know what it was. After staring at the splash screen for about 10 minutes I just decided to reboot ctl+alt+del. this time it booted to KDM login screen. It may have been checking my HDs. that computer has been running for several weeks. Or xorg or kdm had problems.

but I would still like to know how to enable the grub menu and how to get the splash screen off.

See Grub2 (if you are now using Grub2)
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007
