    clean install of 10.04-LTS

    WOW

    I as many of you know I had/have a working 10.04 KDE-4.5.0 BUT that
install has been net upgraded sense 9.04 or 8.10? and has over 2000+
    packages installed on it.

SO yesterday I decided to use a 40Gig-HD I recently added for storage
(then got rid of some files) to do a clean install and see if there was
    any difference.

did the install with no grub booted back to the old install (from hear
on old install will be system1 new will be system2 ..du) edited my
menu.lst (yes legacy grub) as an update-grub dident find it.
then booted system2 added the restricted extras and libdvdcss2 +
    bangarang,firefox,and some themes.

My surprise was how lite system2 is running compared to system1 and how
little space system2 is using 2.6Gig on / as compared to 8.4Gig on
system1...... well system1 has over 1000+ more packages installed than
    system2 so that shouldn't be a surprise .... LOL

for example playing vid in bangarang will run CPU as shown with top up
to 20 on system1 wile on system2 only 9 or less!!

I have NOT done any apt-get dist-upgrades yet but so far all is just
swell and may become my mane boot..............or just a drive to
    try different distributions on.
haven't quite made up my mind yet ......he he he
