[SOLVED] login manager conf help needed

OK I admit it..............I pulled a real boner
I was trying to change my login icon and put a check on my user login under exclude No I didn't measure twice before I cut
Anybody know what file I got to modify with a text editor from the boot cd to get my login back? I can get to a command prompt to login but, kdm does not show me so I need to unexclude myself at the kdm login. Thanks

ok before you try the next bit of advice is it possible for you to type your user name in (as opposed to just clicking on it to set it.)

if that does not work try editing the
/etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc file (it may contain your exclude line)
use sudo nano /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc

if the above does not work you can try using this command to remove kdm (with it settings) and then reinstalling it, do this in your CLI when loged (you might want to be sure you have a network wire pluged in to your router (if not possible search the forum for info on getting your network up from the cli)

sudo apt-get purge kdm . and then simply reinstall it using

sudo apt-get install kdm (if it removed a bunch of stuff w/ kdm use kubuntu-desktop instead of kdm here)

OR ........at the KDM screen click menu and chose console login (this closes all X sessions )

1-log in as you.

2-

sudo su

3-

startx

you will now get a root GUI and can change what you have done........we hope

when you leave the only choice will be logout witch will drop you back to the console at witch you may

shutdown -r now

to reboot
